They use Google tag manager in their signup page. Translation, Google will know your user name, tie it to your real identity, and will track everything you say.
They'll track everything you share, like, comment, etc. You're helping them build a profile on you. Unless you're completely insulated from all advertising, they will find ways to "nudge" you into making purchases and forming opinions.
Nudging is a slow process that happens on the subconscious level: https://www.convertize.com/what-is-nudge-marketing/
Nudge marketing refers to deliberately manipulating how choices are presented to consumers. Its goal is to influence what consumers choose, either to steer them toward options that the marketer believes are good for them or simply to stimulate purchases and increase sales
I already have a gmail, facebook, youtube, reddit accounts that could be tied to my real identity. They could get my identity from .win cites using my IP address, but NOW you want me to afraid of GETTR? This is bullshit.
That sounds like a much bigger problem that you have on your hands... but also a logical fallacy
"I eat fast food, drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes, watch CNN, and you're telling me the vaccine is poison? What should I care?"
No, dude that makes no sense. Even if you are obese, drink alcohol and smoke heavy you should still be afraid of a vaccine that could kill you, that's a rational fear.
Being afraid of GETTR, while I've already exposed myself to Twatter, Goolag, and CommieTube is an irrational fear.
It's like if Cuomo locked me in a nursing home with a bunch of Covid patients for a week, but after week they say hey here you can have this Mask and Face Shield, it's too late I've already been exposed.
While also realizing that a mask and a face shield DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to protect me anyway, is the same as realizing you can't protect your identity online by just refusing to make a GETTR account.
Nowhere did I say to fear anything. I said a gettr account is telegraphing your evert action to google. If you're okay with that then so be it.
The danger is because they pose as an "alternative" platform that's "free" -- unlike facebook twitter etc. where people expect to have zero privacy. It's like thinking you're inside your own home when really google's cameras are in every room.
Act accordingly.
GETTR is telegraphing my every action to google? Dude, just going online your ISP, your browser, your cookies is telegraphing everything you do to google. I don't understand what you don't see about this.
Refusing to make a GETTR account is NOT keeping your information anymore safe from google than anything else. IF you're using standard browsers, and a regular internet connection on a windows computer your ISP and google are tracking you anyway. How is using GETTR exposing you anymore than you already are expose???
Stop misleading people.
Also it's not too late to rid yourself of the other platforms. You know they're bad. Food is a perfect example, "why should I care if it's organic when I eat all this other trash" -- then stop eating the trash!
Q also told us NOT to retreat from the battlefield. IF you want to pretend that not using GETTR is somehow keeping your information safe from Google (Which it isn't), than you go right ahead and keep that false sense of security if it makes you feel better.
We are fighting the information war. Twitter, and Facebook are the enemy. Going on our own platform is the best way to flip them off, and show we are stronger than them. Parler failed, Gab Sucks, we need a platform that can rival Twitter.
Unfortunately for the platform to be good and successful we have to use some of the enemies resources. Maybe down the road that can change, but right now I believe this is the right course to take.
