I am here because I realize, as do many others here regardless of differences in religion (or lack thereof), that the rights and freedoms enshrined in writing by the extremely well-read and well-educated men who founded our Republic have been under attack for more than a hundred years by moral and immoral authoritarians alike. Is it a requirement that I devote my life to God in order to believe in a righteous and just cause to hold those who attack our nation's fundamental values and commit crimes against humanity accountable?
I do not rely on God or the Bible to dictate to me the difference between right and wrong, or between good and evil. But I do still consider what is written within the Bible, because it contains a great deal of wisdom and history that shouldn't be ignored if one is to take responsibility for their own life and strive to be a better person, or to inspire others to do the same. If anything, I feel that the most important lesson the Bible tries to teach to mankind is to take responsibility for your own actions and those of your children first, before you attempt to take responsibility for the actions of anyone else around you.
