Now that I'm on a desktop, I can view the article and my goodness is it worse than I expected. They keep talking like we're responsible for "huge problems" for law enforcement without sourcing a single thing.
They say they compiled 240 unique "images, gifs, memes, and posters" on the third paragraph. Where? Here? They say this is in direct relation to the hashtag but they say they compiled images used in those accounts. These could be anything, and without actually seeing what they are of, how does anybody know they are even in relation to the hashtag in the first place? Because if they're looking for a white, latino/latina, asian, or black person on a Pepe meme, they're not gonna find any.
To add insult to injury, these morons then cite themselves on the second-last paragraph with an article talking about propaganda that literally doesn't even mention us.
So who are these select few so-called representatives of the community? We don't even organize anything here or any other place I'm aware of. We just share articles and post our takes on it. So why are we, all of a sudden, treated like some sort of holistic group that has a single-minded agenda when we don't even agree on each others' analyses? And why is Anqueefa, a group that does organize for events, a group that has an agenda (their name's a hint, even though they're the fascists by definition) and has a centralized logo, given preferential treatment?
I know I'm speaking to the choir here but these points are still worth mentioning, I think.
