Well I know here in ND they're giving farmers money to plow up land where crops died because of the drought.
One mentioned receiving his fildbut I'm guessing with something like alfalfa for hay since it's pretty much too late for anything else.
They don't have to do anything to create a food shortage the drought here is doing that on its own. We are finally getting some rain but it's too late for anything real this year. I know a farmers that have sold off their cattle because they couldn't feed them.
I am not making this up I live in the middle of North Dakota seeing the drop firsthand and it isn't from mismanagement of the land. Or the water resources unlike California.
