But can you trust a Democrat to be MAGA and not just be playing you to get elected? And it seems the last MAGA Democrat was Vernon Jones (if he's not a plant) and he switched parties to be a Republican.
But, to answer the question, assuming you knew they were legit then of course you'd want the MAGA Democrat over the RINO. I just don't know if that would actually ever happen in practice.
I'd say it depends on the Democrat, just like anybody else, but you go by history and action as much as you do what they say.
Sidenote: you're probably not gonna get a MAGA candidate in LA any time soon, but if you can get a less left-leaning communist, versus a tanky, you move to the right by degrees. The more I think about it, the more I realize that, while Trump was fantastic, especially compared to the shitfest of the last thirty years or so before him, maybe he was too much of a rightward lurch too fast. People resist change, even when it's change for the better, and I wonder if maybe he was too much of a change for a nation that had been sliding slowly towards socialism for the past 50+ years...
That's actually a good point. The left got where they are by moving slowly, inch by inch, to change public opinion/what's viewed as acceptable. If each change is incremental enough no one notices anything changing or doesn't care until you end up with men in women's bathrooms who can be in the stall next to a 10-year-old and people not batting an eye at that fact and some even demanding it be allowed or expanded.
Doing that in reverse in certain "extra bad" areas could possibly be a good tactic, though it would take a much longer time to get to where you want to be.

I get a lot of shit for it on this site, but one of the things I try to advise people is to think tactically, not just to react emotionally.
