Now that the patent is expired, does this mean we're going to experience more of this through any of these devices since nobody has the rights to it anymore?
I've heard Facebook does this with it's app. Just anecdotal heresay...but often times that's more reliable than "official" information sources....
Do you or does anyone else have any more evidence (anecdotal or otherwise) of this being used?

As my little anecdotal input surrounding this topic...I deleted my Facebook account on Jan 7th after FB suspended my account for an animated gif I posted somewhere two years prior. They said "this is why we suspended you" and it was an animated gif of Nazis marching doing their salute with zero context and no other points of reference....the reason they actually suspended me was because I went to DC for the rally. So I just said, "here, let me help you" and deleted it entirely. Haven't been back on since. Which leads me to my statement I was going to make...
People always say, "I deleted my Facebook a few weeks ago and man do I feel so much better!"(most of them go back). For me though, I did...feel different. I don't know if "better" is the correct term, but more like...happier. perhaps a couple other feelings I can't exactly put my finger on except it did leave me feeling sorta isolated from the world in a sense. No more direct pathway to old friends. No more checking up on their life status' to compare to mine. A general feeling of being out of an important information loop. Except...I wasn't out of the loop because I was already a member of the .win community. Having been on the internet since 1999, I can barely remember what it was like it's changed so much. I just remember it being so much more...awesome. definitely the forums I used to frequent (somethingawful.com. before they were infiltrated early on by CCP propagandists) were so similar to several on .win and I'm struggling to hold on to that memory.
So I wonder what else can be harnessing this aside from the obvious choices. I mean, yeah, the relentless propaganda and censorship alone for over a decade is enough to do it, but computer programs... Android apps....what else? How do we know? Does anyone know?
I left Facebook before November, can't quite remember when but boy was I happier. As a former shot machine addict, it was very similar. I lost contact with everyone I'd known since high school and most of my very large extended family and I love it. The thing is, just the relief of having one's brain be one's own. There's also the realization that this is much more how life was intended. I talk to my own family and community. If I'm interacting with someone all the time, they're actually in my life. I even talk on the phone now, and love it, instead of feeling like "don't disturb my phone addiction by actually calling me". There's so much value in hearing a person's tone, or better yet seeing their face, and navigating a conversation person to person. It was part of a long process of God shaking our family roots free of old soil to replant us somewhere better. It was an early step in a process that changed everything and really contributed to our awakening. I can't stress enough how harmful these Social Media sites are (the big names) especially FB. It's an open door to every temptation the devil can roll out.
Very interesting correlation - gambling = social media. Same pleasure/reward centers of the brain. DARPA LifeLog must've funded some good research. The human psyche has been decoded. Someone should FOIA the documents....
I was booted from Facebook last august. In January I bought a new phone and decided not to put any social media on it at all. I must say the phone works better than any other new phone I've ever started off with.
