MI = Military Intelligence. This is used a lot here.

I enjoyed reading the newly dropped posts. It was like reading serials as they appeared in magazines a lifetime ago. They also added the mystery of interpreting what they meant. We did not understand then that their meaning would be apparent 4 years later.
