Most of their crap is designed to fail, so that, you can go back and buy the same thing again over and over. Not dumb.
Everything's like that now. Doesn't matter if it comes from China or some other Asian sweatshop. It's called, "Planned Obsolescence."
This is the truth. Had a Kenmore dishwasher bought in 2002, lasted 12 years, no issues until it finally failed.
Replaced it with a Samsung, got stainless steel model for longevity (we thought), turns out, the area where the control panel is located is not sealed from the steam and the circuit board contacts all got rusted and it failed, just after 1 year warranty of course, paid for a new board, did the same thing and again, not under warranty.
Said fuck it and sold it for scrap, bought what I thought would be better, Maytag the Cadillac of dishwashers right?
Wrong. this one did the same thing, only sooner, and was repaired under warranty this time, Worked again for a while, same thing, replaced AGAIN, same thing. Found out that Maytag was bought out and they are made in China too.
I can't really talk about what happened after that due to legal matters, but the situation was resolved.
Went ahead and bought a Bosch (German made) and its been all good since then.
Beware of Samsung and Maytag appliances.
Bosch and Miele. The Cadillac isn't so great, so you need to buy the BMW and Mercedes of appliances to get one that cleans and lasts...
Still using a Kenmore dryer bought in 1986.
