When someone finally swallows the red-pill, they come to the irreversible conclusion that the MSM are corrupt, manipulative, propagandists who actively work against the people's interest. There is no going back when you leave the zombie farm.
Concerning those who are almost on the edge of taking the red-pill, that means it should be in the Media's long-term, best interest to walk back some of their blatant lies in an attempt to restore credibility. If this is just one battle in a series then it should be time to regroup if they want to come back swinging in the future.
Here's the thing... They aren't trying to walk ANYTHING back to get on people's good graces again. They have resolved to allow red-pill conversions unabated -- even brashly saying good riddance to the fleeing fence sitters.
They are doubling down on the smooth brains they have successfully claimed and are giving up trying to retain the people who are on the edge.
That means one thing...
There is no future for them.
This is it; this is their last chance (if you had any doubts left).
When the lies get this desperate, this blatant, and this shocking they are well past trying to grow their numbers. At this point, they are trying their damnedest to keep what little of a zombie crop they have left. They are grabbing what they can with no hope of ever coming back, like a drug dealer stuffing everything in their apartment into a bag before the door busts down.
Panic.
I know what you were trying to say, but let me clarify: The people keep the press in check. The people keep the government in check. The government do what they're told to do by the people.
The People know nothing of the actions of Government 100 miles away from home if not for the Press informing them.
As a result, the Press are required, in some form, to relay information to the People. When that ceases, then the Government has free reign to abuse the People.
The People institute Government, which they know is inherently and pathetically predisposed to corruption, so that the Rule of Law has a constant overseer above mob rule.
The Government has no control over the Press. In its essence, the Press is the dispensation of ideas. Try as they might, no Government has been absolutely successful to this end. There is always a way to get messages across to one another outside the peering eyes of Government, at least as long as the NWO is prevented from micro chipping us all.
A Contract is made between the People and the Government declaring that the People are willing to give up some of their autonomy in exchange for security. In exchange, the Government is given powers higher than the average Person in order to maintain the Rule of Law. I hesitate to say the People give up their liberties, because such a thing is the very precipice of tyranny that must be avoided at all costs. The fine line between autonomy and liberty must be protected. In comes the Press, which oversees this contract and whose duty is to quickly inform the People when the Government is no longer satisfied with the autonomy of the People but seeks to steal their liberties as well.
So, while I hate to admit that the People don't have direct check of the Government, the reality that is time and space is against us. The Press, which will soon exist only as public forums and platforms rather than the speaking heads of Legacy Media, must always exist in some form or fashion as the front line to keep Government in check. The People become the Press when the relay of Government actions is concerned. In that way, only one conclusion of the modern discourse is certain...
We Are The News Now.
Everyone here on this forum is a part of the New Press. Normies are the People.
We have been tasked with immense responsibility to dispense the Truth of Government actions because the Old Press has failed the People. Technology permits us this strength and solemn duty.
You are missing a crucial step. How does The press keep the gov in check?
By alerting the people of course. So you are both right.
