I should say government never willingly or without outside pressure relinquishes its power. Of its own devices, it never will, and it grows and grows and grows.
WE THE PEOPLE are the check and balance against the government. If the government fails in its duty to protect the rights of the individual, then according to our founding document, the Declaration of Independence, which is part of the organic law of our country by virtue of its historical significance, then we must exert our pressure upon government to get back to what it is supposed to be doing.
