Oh well, fuck them. I was looking into a RAV4 Prime, a higher end RAV4, or a Tacoma. Fuck that now.
I like Honda more anyway :-) ... especially the cars they make in Ohio ... I have two Hondas built there that refuse to die. Both have over 230K miles, look great, run great, and basically require only oil changes and gas to go!
The only "problems" I have had over the years are the typical, expected ones when you hit ~ 150K miles while staying on top of maintenance (brakes of course ... one caliper on each car needed replaced ... struts ... some sway bar bushings ... outer tierods ... an alternator on one of them ... a starter on the other ... everything was very straightforward to replace ... oh, a power steering line failed due to corrosion ... that was a 10 minute replacement and an OEM part was only $60).
That is not bad for 16+ year old cars. I use one of them to tow stuff with a trailer on occasion (nothing big of course ... no more than 1000 pounds of stuff) and it doesn't skip a beat. And like I implied, if you're a do it yourself kind of person, Hondas are a dream to work on ... anything that seems like it has a higher probability to fail is basically right in front of you :-) .
My stepson also has newer one ... same thing ... change the oil, get gas ... it just keeps going and going :-).
So, Honda it is. Fuck Toyota. And if you work for Honda in Ohio, you rock!!! :-)
