As someone who is on the younger side of things, I would just like to point out people on social media aren't representative of all of us young people. Of everyone I know, literally no one uses social media for anything more than selling/buying crap on facebook marketplace or looking at cool pictures of cars, houses, mountains, etc. on instagram. Literally no one I know actually posts anything on social media.

The people who actually use social media for anything other than occupying boredom or getting rid of old crap they don't want anymore are in the minority. They're usually the type who have "mommy and daddy" issues and need to constantly seek validation and attention from the internet since they can't get it anywhere else. That's why the majority of them are upper middle class or uber wealthy spoiled brats with no personality beyond "I'm rich/gay/liberal/some other form of freak." They have, at maximum, 3 "personality traits", and are some of the saddest and most boring people on the planet because they're ruining their lives and the lives of other people, because their parents emotionally neglected them.
