From the Hippocratic Oath:
"I will apply dietetic measures for the benefit of the sick according to my ability and judgment; I will keep them from harm and injustice. (How many docs do you know that prescribe dietary measures before prescribing poison?)
I will neither give a deadly drug to anybody if asked for it, nor will I make a suggestion to this effect. Similarly I will not give to a woman an abortive remedy. In purity and holiness I will guard my life and my art.
The main problem is government licensing for jobs, there are all sorts of professions that require them, doctors being one of them. Once the people who issue these licenses become corrupted by greed and power, they are able to essentially black mail everyone with losing their livelihood, and unfortunately for most people their cushy job that feeds their family and gets them a new tesla is worth more than being an honest person and being true to any oath they may have taken
Welcome! Agreed with the government licenses. It would be better for physicians to hold each other accountable, and to be held accountable by their patients.
