This is an interesting take on Charlie Ward.

Can you remember that podcast where the child-trafficking victim thought she recognised Ward from one of the planes that was transporting her?

It could explain how he is so apparently well-off, moves huge amounts of cash and gold across borders and is not afraid of the Cabal.
