I guess Cruz doesn't want to be elected.
FTA: The language of the press release, Cruz himself, and the other Republicans were clear, indicating that they do not believe that Americans who have refused the COVID-19 vaccination deserve to have their previous normal lives restored. They also offered no support for the rights of those who have naturally acquired immunity from the virus, which is at least as effective as the vaccine or better.

I don't really think Cruz is cabal or a RINO, I think he's legitimately just an idiot. Like, he either missed his calling as an actor, or he's an idiot. In my mind those are the only two options. He's more often than not, on our general side, but then he just up and does stupid crap that angers his base. I think he's just an idiot who thinks what he's doing is what his base wants, but he's so out of touch with reality that he thinks being bombastic and over the top is all it takes to keep his base happy. Case in point, him going on vacation during the blizzard storms earlier this year is an idiot mistake, but he's also vehemently fighting against all of these election bills in congress.
Or better example, he's fighting tooth and nail against vaccine passports, but then comes out and says something stupid like this. All in all, he's just not a good person to be in politics. He's better suited to be a spokesman for a used car dealership with his personality and actions.
Cruz wants power. He’ll do whatever he thinks will get him power. He’d sell all of us to be president.
VERY fair point. He's the type who has grand aspirations but can't wipe his own butthole without instructions, so he makes a grand show of it. He actually fights for SOME things people want because he thinks it'll make him look good, ala Trump and Desantis, but then he turns around and shows his own stupidity and angers everyone who would vote for him. He get's the slightest bit of recognition and power and then lets it go to his head.
He's like those people that win the lottery, blow the millions on a bunch of random crap, and then declare bankruptcy a few years later.
It's like all his grandstanding against Big Tech, all just a lot of thunder while Crowder's lawsuit and now Trump's class-action lawsuits are what are is actually scaring them as a congressional or senate hearing for Big Tech is just another annoyance.
