I have family still in Durban and Pinetown, stone’s throw from some of the worst violence. I’ve seen clips of places I used to work at smashed to bits, the spot where my wife and I went on our first date literally up in flames.

My dad says literally every mall and store are destroyed, will be (optimistically)weeks before they could even think of reopening, and obviously trucks aren’t running so no one knows what’s going to happen a couple days from now when food starts running scarce. My little sister is terrified because they’ve been posting all over social media about how they’re planning to hit the suburbs tonight. It’s really bad ☹️
