The truth is that the scientific community understands very little about the nature of electricity, even more, Lightning. And it will unfortunately continue to be the case as long as they continue to hold to the dogma of blind, undirected matter acting only in accordance with mechanical chemical reactions (reactions which they conveniently take for granted and never investigate the 'why').
I have been in a house when it was directly hit by lightning. I don't know that it was lightning that destroyed the GF mural, but I do know that it certainly could have been. People who say "there's no way that could have been caused by lightning" are making assumptions.
