indeed. You are talking about awareness. Being in a state of ego ( mind + emotion), you are totally not aware, unless your in-tuition kicks in. I mean this as a factual statement, not an accusation.

To be aware of the subtle difference, you would have to allow your ego to switch off. That precludes gaming.
