the most horrifying part is not knowing if it was used in the production of food that you are eating....reason # 732 to get more self sufficient...ugh

I've been toying with the idea of getting chickens, BUT.....ever since I was little they have always freaked me out, I don't know why, lol. Also I read some books about how to do that stuff and it seems super overwhelming to me...

We just got chickens. As long as you predator-proof their environment, they’re pretty easy.

I never thought I’d have chickens, but they’re kinda fun!

Because they're lizards with feathers! That said, they are great for bug control and eggs and the inevitable rotisserie... I think there are a couple of books out there about managing chickens together with gardens in ways beneficial to both.
