The so called "inventors" may have been on that flight, but not the patent "owners".
The inventors were listed on the patents, but by virtue of working for Freescale at the time, as is an industry standard practice, and in their initial work agreement, relinquished any right to patent ownership, control, and royalties. Traditionally they were paid a dollar, and in more gracious times awarded stock options and the like, but in all cases gave up their ownership rights to any work done in the employ of the company.
As for the Rothschilds, like many others, they owned significant stock in the company and such had some voting control, but never exclusive rights beyond that.
Ultimately it would have been unnecessary to murder the inventors, and in truth they may have killed the geese who would have continued to lay the golden eggs.
