There are many prominent Atheist historians (like, REAL historians) who will tell you that you are barking up the wrong tree. The fact that you are not familiar with them is telling.
Don't tell me that. Give me your evidence of Jesus and stop trying to leverage others for it. What I listed is fact. Tacitus and Josephus didn't even exist when Jesus did.
Jesus. Did. Not. Exist.
On your argument of words on paper not being proof, I completely agree. The words on paper that you're saying tell you Jesus didn't exist - those aren't proof either. Oh, but I'm sure (sarcasm here) that none of your secularist historians would have motives to put things down on paper, right? Only other ones?
By your own logic, your opinion is just as baseless as you feel anyone's is in here.
Now you're getting it. So we really can't know anything when it comes to history. It's words on paper and interpretations and retold stories. This is where you need faith and this is where I say I'm incompatible with the concept of faith. Question everyone.
Enjoy your religion.
You're missing his point. He's not giving you supporting arguments for your position. He's showing you the futility of your position.
Think about it. Your posts above are now "history." And your position is that we cannot "know" anything from history. Therefore we cannot know what you possibly mean or what your motives are. Is a deconstructionist view of history and reality. Therefore, it's an untenable position.
Goood try.
Do your own research.
You know, in the spirit of Q.
I did. And I found Christianity to be one of the biggest conspiracies of them all.
