I haven't seen anyone suggest the mockery angle yet. If all else fails, give that a try.

Show her several pictures of flowers/bouquets and ask her which she would like the most. Then show her wood finishes and ask her which looks best with the flowers.

If she asks what it is for, say it is for her funeral.

That'd shock the hell out of me, so it probably would for her as well.
