What we need to think about this is more source documents of the way the founders thought, and fewer modern conspiracy interpretations of those documents or whatever the theorists think they see today. If it is a truly secret society we won't know anything except what whistleblowers may tell us, and the current view that 33rd degree Masons rule the world can't really be examined. The only whistleblowers who would know would be other 33rd degree Masons. There can't be that many and if they are ruling the world they would deny everything. If they aren't ruling the world they still would deny it.
