In the past year and a half, ive known 2 people that were really sick with something and one mildly sick with something they called Covid.
Not really a reason to shut down. Maybe what ive seen is rare.
What has been your personal observations and experiences?
I've actually seen very little real-time evidence here in east Tennessee. My brother-in-law was quite sick last year and was bedridden for a few days; his wife had a mild case of something and took care of him... Now whether it was COVID or not is unknowable, as he didn't get tested and just handled it at home, he's tough. But other than that, I don't know a single person who definitely has or had the virus. Rather odd, if you think about it, because the local "news" is fear porn at the top of every hour, but I cannot trust their numbers, the stations are completely owned by larger corporate broadcast entities.
But personal experience is just that above.... one seriously ill relative with no absolute diagnosis. You'd think that if this "pandemic" is real there would be bodies in the streets and funeral homes with refrigerated trailers parked out back, but nothing... crickets.
Oh, and the homeless population here, while relatively small, seems to be alive and well.
