They will accept blood but not plasma from a vaxxed person. That being said if it’s an emergency that happened and you needed blood then it’s the luck of the draw for you. I do know you can donate your own blood specifically to a certain person if you are compatible. We did this for my brother cause he needed 5 bags of blood. If you were scheduling a surgery you could probably donate a couple bags of your own blood ahead of time in anticipation if you needed it. Or know a friend/family member with same blood type w/out the jab and ask them to donate blood to you if needed. Put it in a healthcare proxy too.
But do you really trust the hospital or RedCross to actually give you the blood that you donated or had donated for yourself?? I would only trust the process if I saw the blood going from my veins into a patient's veins. Maybe us vaccinated need to band together for survival. I used to donate blood all the time but quit when I saw what the Red Cross was involved with. I am not anti donating I am just against supporting organized criminal activity.
I agree- I used to faithfully donate every month only b/c my employer made it convenient & I realized how important it was in an emergency situation like my brother. But I haven’t donated since before 3/2020 when the pandemic hit. But what I know now about the Red Cross bothers me. Granted the people working at the lowest levels are more clueless than us. The entire thing is crumbling before our eyes & there’s not a damn thing any of us can do to stop it. Pray pedes 🙏🏼 It’s the only thing to make a difference now.
I've wondered about this myself, and at this point would not want any donated blood. There are ways around this problem for planned surgeries, as Jehovah's Witnesses won't accept donated blood, but this doesn't apply to emergency situations. Frankly, if my choice was dying from an emergency versus accepting donated blood, there are worse things than dying (which happens to all of us anyway), so I'd choose dying.
I do know the blood banks are not accepting blood or plasma from the vaxed.
What's their long term plan on this then? Because this sounds like the plot from the movie Daybreakers.
My understanding after looking at the Red Cross website is it is only the first 2 weeks after jab. Longer than that can donate, I believe. Yuck.
In the past they'd put out in the news that there is a blood shortage and oftentimes volunteers step in. But they'd have to check them
