It’s so weird to me that they gave such a finite timeline in the beginning. Why did they bother when they clearly just do what they wanna do?

Spot on. I accepted it the first time, but when the lockdown got extended and more info started to come out i.e. when the first US case arrived, etc, I KNEW. Too convenient.
