If it was an ascent trajectory from the water, it was not from Alaska, but it was identified as being from Puget Sound, Washington. It was not an attempt to intercept Air Force One. It may have been an attempt to provoke a nuclear exchange with Russia. It was described as being a helicopter navigation light that was photographed in a time exposure, but I doubt that based on my analysis to that point in time. I was not able to complete my analysis to develop an estimate of the launch trajectory.
I remember this, AF1 was on its was back from N Korea and it was a AA missile fired from a base in Alaska which some F-15's took care of.
Boats do have SLBMs but they are no good at all for shooting down aircraft.
I apologize if I have the wrong end of the stick, the situation I speak of was before the Hawaii incident.
