He doesn't need a tax he needs a guillotine
Could it be any more obvious?
I don't see the fake news anywhere.
Sure, the articles were most likely written as a result of the owner being a billionaire who doesn't want to lose his money, but that doesn't make the articles wrong. Taxes should be as minimal as possible and that doesn't change when someone becomes rich. You could also argue that companies competing to go into space is a benefit to humanity, though that isn't as clear-cut as the others.
As for the rest of the Washington Post, agreed that it's absolute garbage and filled with completely fake nonsense.
It's nothing short of hilarious how quick people on this board are to upvote literal socialist memes if it's about a billionaire they don't like. See the watermark in the image? It says "suave_meme_stash". All their posts are extremely left wing, and make the Biden administration look like the Reagan one. Here's one: https://www.instagram.com/p/CRSeYwGlapk/
If this meme was about Trump - a billionaire who avoided tax (which I have no problem with) his whole life, it wouldn't get any upvotes. But if it's about Bezos or Zuckerberg, people are quick to forget their political ideology and turn into communists for a couple of minutes.
Fair point. It's good that conservatism as a whole has moved away from deifying corporations and rich people, but at the same time we shouldn't hate them enough to endorse dumb economic policies. Bezos/Amazon are particularly interesting because they're despised by people on opposite ends of the spectrum for wildly different reasons.
Since when has conservatism ever been about "deifying corporations and rich people"?
True conservatism, never, but I guess I’m talking more about the libertarian types that make a god out of capitalism as if it’s a divinely ordained system. While socialism is opposed to capitalism, capitalism is indifferent to socialism, and a lot of “conservatives” treat capitalism as if it’s the only thing worth preserving when it actually allows for a lot of moral evils in society.
Basically a lot of people who identify as conservative care more about tax cuts and such than cultural issues which are the root of everything. While conservatism as we see it is more focused on traditional values, the movement hasn’t always emphasized that aspect as much.
I perhaps misspoke by saying we “deified” them, but I think we defended them way more than they deserved to be defended.
I suppose you're right there. A lot of people who say they're conservative only go into the economic side failing to realize it goes deeper than just cutting taxes and everything magically gets better. You have to get down to the values, principles, and morals that govern society to improve things as a whole.
Yep, spot on.
And that account is taking "the left can't meme" to a whole new level
