I hadn't picked up on that, but I get your point. Just like everything else through out history we don't know what we don't know and often that fact is intentional.
If you don't serialize batches of cookies you want to sell for your local fundraiser here the man will come down on you like a ton of bricks. Everything, everything needs to have a batch number that's not a one off art piece etc and there it was.
It's always in the most benign of sentences where the most damage comes. This is why they've ensured 50% of the US or whatever is functionally illiterate.
