Not sure if God is leading me to post my morning Bible Read, but He certainly is allowing me to do it.

Psalm 28. Of David.

Theme: Prayer when surrounded by trouble or wickedness. God is our only real source of safety. Prayer is our best help when trials come our way because it keeps us in communion with God.

Author: David.

1 To you, LORD, I call; you are my Rock, do not turn a deaf ear to me. For if you remain silent, I will be like those who go down to the pit. 2 Hear my cry for mercy as I call to you for help, as I lift up my hands toward your Most Holy Place. 3 Do not drag me away with the wicked, with those who do evil, who speak cordially with their neighbors but harbor malice in their hearts. 4 Repay them for their deeds and for their evil work; repay them for what their hands have done and bring back on them what they deserve. 5 Because they have no regard for the deeds of the LORDand what his hands have done, he will tear them down and never build them up again. 6 Praise be to the LORD, for he has heard my cry for mercy. 7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. 8 The LORD is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one. 9 Save your people and bless your inheritance; be their shepherd and carry them forever.

Study Note:

28:3-5 It's easy to pretend friendship. Wicked people often put on a show of kindness or friendship in order to gain their own ends. David, in his royal position, may have met many who pretended friendship only to meet their own goals. David knew that God would punish them eventually, but he prayed that their punishment would come swiftly. True believes should be straightforward and sincere in all their relationships.

I was sitting here trying to think of a friend or family member or government servant of the people(?) or anyone who is straightforward and sincere with me. I thought of one.

He is the One True Friend that I can be completely honest, straightfoward, and sincere with. So, I come to my dining room table each morning to read His Word, to commune with Him, and to pour out the stuff that's occupying my brain to Him. He hears my prayers.

He is my one True Friend.

I still pray, Lord, that you let me live in Truth today--in all my relationships. Please, Lord, let me live in Truth.

Let it be so--according to your will.
