What are flat and smooth?

Science is now suggesting that the Earth is in the middle of everything more than anything else is, thus making it the center or making it revolve closest to the center (i think they call it the galactic center).

If flat is smooth and smooth is flat all I want to know is HOW THE FUCK DID THEY?!
