Danger pay is a thing for perilous or extreme environments, I get it. So for mines, gas wells, working out on drilling rigs in the middle of the ocean, or war zones - fine.
But who wants to combine the clot shot with serving coffee, or selling clothes? Ridiculous. And you might dodge IEDs and random snipers.. but how do you defend against poisons in your own bloodstream thats hard at work fucking up all your organs?
Heck. When I was in restaurants and it was snowing it wasn’t worth my life or my car to go to work for a few bucks an hour. There was significant risk of losing money going to work if there was an accident. Once I realized that my work ethic made me pretty much untouchable I would always tell them the day before I wouldn’t be coming in. If they disciplined me they would hurt themselves. But traveling in the snow is way safer than a clot shot.
Know somebody that works for a school district as a janitor. They were getting danger pay for a while during the beginning of all this.
