Today decided to have lunch at Potbelly in the Lombard area. Despite a "mask recommended" sign on the door: all but one employee were maskless, all the plexiglass is gone, and even the hand sanitizer station at the door was gone. Most customers were free-breathing as well including some nursing staff out on their lunch break.
Continued observations that most here don't care about "muh delta variant".
My mom was born and raised in the West Chicago suburbs. West High Lake area. The old homestead was passed down to her sister. We would come back annually for the week of 4th of July to see all our cousins... (we had moved down south to NVA in the early 60's from Kankakee). Good memories. Still have some cousins who live up in that area.
Homestead was sold years ago after my aunt passed away. All my aunts and uncles are gone now. The last and youngest of them died just a year ago.
