So you clearly didn't read my entire comment with multiple instances where, essentially, the right was calling for boycotts because a company was in support of gay rights.
You're so fragile that learning about how the systems in the US favors one group over another that you think they're saying that you need to be less white. They are literally saying let's stop judging people by their skin color but that's too difficult for you to grasp.
"The right"
We aren't "the right." I voted for Obama in my ignorant youth.
Are you "the left?" Can I hold you responsible for the millions of people Stalin starved to death? Or would that be stupid?
Stop thinking in black and white, Republican and Democrat. It's how the real powers of this world get us to fight each other instead of them.
This is one thing I think that we can agree on. Those in power have sought to set one against another in this country to ensure that they stay in power. We need to break out of the 2 party system that they have gotten us into.
I'm not sure you would but I would recommend looking into Ranked Choice Voting. That is the only way I see any other party being able to gain any real power in this country and stop the constant back and forth that the current system has created.
And no they aren't saying stop judging by skin color. They are saying the exact opposite of that.
We want an egalitarian society; where nobody is judged by race or gender. But in an egalitarian society, there will be winners and losers. Black people are going to do worse than Asians and Europeans in a society that doesn't judge by skin color. That's just reality.
It's coke and all these "woke" companies that push not for egalitarianism (equal treatment) but for equal outcome. To give blacks the same level of wealth and status as whites or asians would require that we codify judging by race into law. Which we already do, the system that you claim is racist against blacks, actually discriminates against white people and asians via affirmative action.
So do you want to live in a society where everyone is treated equally under the law? Or do you want the law to discriminate by gender or skin color to make sure we all end up "equal?"
To say that "Blacks" are in their current stations in the world purely by their own merit is ignoring all the history behind why they're in that position in the first place. Don't act like white people haven't used their power in the past to hold them down.
Look up red lining and try and tell me that policy doesn't have lasting effects on the wealth that they were able to accumulate and pass down.
Look up the slave bible and everything that was left out of it and tell me they didn't purposely keep them uneducated in order to keep a more firm control.
Try to correct the wrongs of our past shouldn't be seen as advancing one group over the other.
I would love for everyone to be treated equally under the law, but most statistics show that they aren't being treated that way.
"Try to correct the wrongs of our past shouldn't be seen as advancing one group over the other."
How we correct the wrongs of the past is by creating a fair future. To go back through time, and try to correct every group of people that was wronged is an impossible task. Do you think it was only the blacks that were discriminated against? Basically every race has been enslaved by every other race at one point or another throughout history. The Irish were VERY discriminated against when they started immigrating to the US. Many places wouldn't even allow them inside. Do their ancestors deserve reparations?
I never discriminated against anyone, and I'm poor as heck. Are you going to take the tiny amount of money I do have, and give it to someone else based on our skin color? What about the black families that had slaves? Do they get my money too?
Besides all that, the one thing the black community doesn't need right now is more free handouts. They have become dependent on our social programs and it's rotting their communities. You have to teach a man to fish, not just give him food.
I'm not saying that others haven't been discriminated against. But using that fact to ignore that the effects of discrimination can have lasting effects is BS in my opinion.
I never said that you have discriminated against anyone. I doubt that you are in the position to perpetuate the issues that we are talking about.
Did you know that there are more white people on welfare and food stamps then their are black people? Why should the richest country that has ever existed allow for their citizens, whether they be black, brown, white or asian to be poor? I believe that the problem is beyond race, its the rich versus the poor, but the rich have been able to get the poor to fight each other and ignore the fact that our wages had they increased at the rate of inflation that the minimum wage would be $22 an hour. The rich steal from us everyday and they use that stolen wealth to gain power and to get us to fight each other.
