Rodents have been known plague carriers in the CA wild areas (and some urban too) for a good century now.
Nothing new. Just another attempt to churn up the fear.
Next thing you know they'll be going on about the Hunta virus in mice in the 4 corners area.
Every year, in Colorado, the prairie dogs test positive. It's a yearly occurrence. You're right, just more fear porn.
