Have you ever read the Bible and had one small word jump out and change everything for you?

This happened for me today. I was reading Romans 8 where it says,

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us."

In this part of Romans, Paul is reminding us that NOTHING can separate us from the love of Christ. Even in all the bad times and struggles, Jesus is there and working. Through it all, we are more than conquerors through Christ.

As I read this for the millionth time, one word jumped off the page: MORE. We aren't just conquerors...we are MORE than conquerors through Jesus.

How is it even possible to be more than a conqueror?

Imagine fighting a battle today, and when it's over the king tells you that you more than won. Don't we simply win or lose battles? How could we possibly more than win?

In Jesus, we don't just win...we MORE than win. With Christ, we always get so much more than we deserve...so much more than we anticipate. Think about the verses below:

"Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen" (Ephesians 3:20-21).

He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. That's a powerful God. Anything we can think of or ask for? He can do more. The greatest request our minds could ever conceive still pale short in comparison to HIS glory.

His Spirit working in us does more than we realize; His power is more powerful than we realize.

In the spiritual battle we are facing in the world right now, we won't just win...we will MORE than win. We aren't fighting alone, Jesus is fighting on our behalf.

Rest in this promise tonight, we are already more than conquerors!
