My grandmother pronounces a lot of words that way. She says hoose (house), and oo-in (on). But then she mixes with a southern belle style. She’s very prim and proper.
She lived in Virginia most of her life, I’m not familiar with how people talk there so I don’t know if that’s where her accent came from. She moved to GA like 45 years ago, so that may explain the southern belle part. (I’m Georgian, her accent is very different than folks ‘round here ☺️)
