Chicago strong arm politics have reigned over the government in Illinois for decades. Chicagos agrenda for better or worse has been Illinois's agenda. Much like the federal government, the Illinois government has sold its citizens to the lowest bidder for free shitty lunch programs and $500 hammers.

So its pretty much been Chicago's ride with the rest of the state in toe, because of muh super majority population in the chicago metroplex, aka the Peoples Republic of Chicago.
