I'm going to add a couple of anecdotes that run counter to this utter bullshit.
First off, there are five nurses in my family, all of them RN's and one MSN. They work in various clinics and hospitals (one of them in an ICU) around the southeast primarily. They reported almost no unusual activity during the COVID pandemic when our whole family got together for thanksgiving last year. Nothing that the regular flu season didn't already bring into their establishments in the first place.
Second, they ALL reported heavy pressure from above in their hospitals and clinics to make COVID the cause of death or illness in anything that could even remotely be tied to COVID. Come into the hospital with a broken arm and they were required to ask if they had any flue like symptoms recently: "Yeah, I have a runny nose, but I get one every winter... however my fucking arm is broken, so could we take care of that?" POOF COVID PATIENT.
No shit, it was to that level last year.
Third, an elderly family member died last week (peacefully in her sleep and not from COVID) and the family went to the funeral home to schedule her burial... we had to wait fourteen days to get her into the funeral home to prepare her for the wake because they were so backed up.
So my family started a conversation with this funeral director and he stated: During 2020 I had many of my freezers turned off, but since about February of 2021 I've been running at full capacity and don't even have room for half the people who are passing away.
Ah-MAZING insights, Fren! Thank you SO much for commenting. I posted this and knew it would rile some feathers, but also start conversation. I appreciate Frens like yourself who can contribute positively and constructively to this discussion. God Bless!

Take all of this how you will.
