Too true. When I think back to the real men in my life, they were gems. But holy smokes - you could cut yourself on their edges.
The beauty was, everyone knew that. They weren't mean, or bad, or rule breaking for no reason. They wanted to live life peaceably. But they had that edge in reserve - just in case. Sometimes that edge was to preserve/flex their masculinity. Other times, it was to keep those around them in line.
It's in a male's nature to want to lead, and conquer, that which is around him. You could apply that to groups, women, business, etc. The guy who stops short of conquering something willfully is far more impressive than the guy who doesn't get off his couch because conquering is "icky."
