I got an advertisement in my inbox today. It featured "Aunt Jemima" syrup in the familiar bottle and label...except they've completely removed her NAME from the bottle. It is now called "Pearl Milling Company." Apparently, this was the name of the company that originally introduced the syrup and the pancake mix back in 1888.
They've gone even more woke now.
"In the coming weeks, Pearl Milling Company will also announce the details of a $1 million commitment to empower and uplift Black girls and women, inviting the community to visit its website and nominate non-profit organizations for an opportunity to receive grants to further that mission. This is in addition to PepsiCo's more than $400 million, five-year investment to uplift Black business and communities, and increase Black representation at PepsiCo."

I have a bottle of the real Aunt Jemima in my cabinet. I am going to save it and bring it on the antique roadshow in 20 years.
Better hang onto anything with Uncle Ben on it, too. No doubt he'll be the next one to go.
I just don't understand this at all. There's no concern at all over Chef Boyardee or Betty Crocker, or even Stubb's barbecue sauce, which has a drawing of a black man wearing a cowboy hat on the label. If there's nothing wrong with them then there's nothing wrong with Aunt Jemima or Uncle Ben. It's flat-out racism being disguised as "wokeness."
The only thing wrong is the woke companies.
I still have two unopened bottles of aunt jemima
Her family has lost big money now that she is no longer representing the brand. Way to go PepsiCo, taking wealth away from black families!

I've already received a canned reply:
Thanks for reaching out about the new name. We always appreciate hearing from our consumers.
We know that this action represents a change for a brand that is more than 130 years old. What will not change is the delicious taste and great value of our products. As such, we stand behind our branding decision.
Please know I have made our brand team aware of your position.
Liberals just can not stop their long tradition of deleting black people.
Sounds chinese
Here's a good one. I just noticed this link at the bottom of the webpage:

We should goad and demand that they release the trademarks and rights to such a racist brand and name. Then Goya should immediately trademark it put Aunt Jemima back on the shelves. They'd make a mint.
I like the way you think, fren.
Them owning and holding onto the Aunt Jemima brand is the same as holding her in slavery.
Yuk, sounds like Pearl Mining. That's when a gay guy sucks his own semen out of another guy's butthole.

Do you know why it's called Pearl Milling? Because 99% of pearls are white.
Whoa! Good catch, fren! Perhaps we should start a write-in campaign to point this out to them. ;-)
I just went out to their website and pointed this out to them. I would encourage all of you to go to their site and voice your opinions. It's time we put a stop to this nonsense:

As they seem to have abandoned the trademark of aunt Jemima, it would seem to be an opening for another to scoop it up and rebrand a syrup as the née aunt jemimas syrup.
Uncle Jemimas and Aunt Bens is where we're headed. Hegelian dialectic...
