You're right. I'll never forget when I first realized Pinocchio is basically a story about Turkish slavers kidnapping children to take to pleasure island. They offer everything for free but once they drink the "kool-aid" they realize how much of a jackass they truly are for buying into it. Someone should make a meme comparing that scene to the virus scam and all the incentives they offer. Don't get me started on Snow White and the evil queen that consumes human flesh in hopes of gaining beauty either.
