Interesting, I thought the iodine advocates recommended using a high dosage like 50mg for a short period to get your levels normalised and counteract halogens etc. but you've been using that amount daily for 5+ years so I take it you haven't had any deleterious effects from that dosage. Did you go through a detox phase and would you caution against 50mg for someone who has just started with iodine?
Good questions ๐๐ผ I take colloidal iodine on occasion as a heavy metal purge (I like my seafood), but not familiar with Nascent Iodine. PS. (Still hodling fren).
What a world we live in hey! I do think some monumental good could come from crypto but I hope this current precarious economic climate doesn't burn a heap of young investors going forward.
I believe it depends on the individual's status. I used a half a tablet to begin with and observed any changes. I think, when I was experimenting in 2010), I noticed a small rash, facial I think. That was it. I gradually increased the amounts. Have stayed with this amount because of the 2 root canals from many years ago and recently 2 leaking crown which abscessed. Generally, though I tend to heal well and don't get sick. Now that I am using MMS, I anticipate controlling the present leaking crown until I can do something about it. I would always start very conservatively because the body will take that opportunity to detox, as you indicated. Go easy, observe. Never had any issues with it though. I could take the 4 tablets before going to bed and sleep like a baby.
MDs used to give out iodine like candy, 30's, 40's or so. It used to be in our milk because the dairymen would wash the udders with iodine. It used to be in our breads but they substituted bromine (same family, poisonous though) instead.....can't have the people being fed well ya know.
Thanks for the response. It may have been a bit of a risk given the unknowns but I just went for it with ~50mg and a day later I don't notice anything negative so I think I'll keep doing it for 15 days or so at least and then maybe drop down to a lower maintenance level.
Are there any other nutrients/supplements that you find beneficial?
I take Standard Process supplements for gall bladder support; have been doing that for quite awhile. I've noticed that the GB is a lot happier now. I take a raft of other supplements from that company. Since I still have a root canalled tooth, I have been taking heart nutrients & support because the teeth have miles of microscopic tubules where blood used to carry nutrients to the tooth. Dentists remove the main tissue to the single, double or triple root but leave those miles and miles of now-cadaverous tissue to poison the body and those toxins go to the heart. I've taken something called Thytrophin for thyroid support for some time and I take Bacopa and phosphotidylserine for long and short-term memory support. My memory has been abysmal all of my life and at my age (70), it's improved some. I've had a professional account with SP for about 19 years so I have good access and don't have to buy from a professional. Their stuff is as organic as possible, raising mountains of vegetation on their farms in Wisconsin. Their stuff is cold-processed; the company was started by Royal Lee back in the 20s. My cat gets some of what I take and a few formulated for felines. I am rambling now.....
