Today, Washington Gov. Jay Inslee mandated the Covid vaccine for all state and private healthcare employees. These people must all be vaccinated by October 18th or lose their jobs. There is no provision for regular testing for unvaccinated people. Religious exemptions will likely be allowed, though there are scant details on who accepts exemptions and on what grounds. Likewise, there are no details on how compliance will be enforced, though I have heard that the state Dept. of Health has records for all of those who have been vaccinated. It would be easy for them to compare databases and know who has not complied.
This topic is very close to home to me. It is simply incredible that any governor can be allowed to get away with such a wide mandate. What will the next mandate be? Is there no rule of law in our country anymore?

All States have legislated the provision for emergency powers. The governor's orders still CANNOT violate existing laws. If any provisions in the EO are in conflict with any such laws, it is the statutory law that has authority. The provision of the EO in conflict is therefore null and void. Remember, the governor is chief executive and enforces existing State laws. He does not get to EVER make law.
The provision the legislature made for emergency powers is typically no longer than 30 days. Thenceforth, the governor is suppose to go through the legislature to extend it. In Michigan and other Pathocrat States, they were abusing the power by reissuing new EOs every month. See how that works? By doing this, they essentially usurped the power and voice from the people. In MI it got so bad, the MI supreme court ruled against Whitmer's shenanigans and called it an 'abuse of power'. If one looks this up, they will find this being the definition of 'Tyranny'. So instead of the MI governor obeying and backing down, she thumbed her nose at the Supreme Court and went through the State's department of Health issuing these orders. Finally, the Republican held legislature ended it by voting to removing the Governor's powers permanently.
I don't know about your State, but non-compliance is where it need to start. If nothing is done, and people sit on the asses, this will only get worse.
This is by definition -- tyranny. A tyrannical government always starts inch-by-inch, then it starts accelerating until its unstoppable.
I couldn't agree more. I've studied tyranny since the ancient Greeks through the communists, and know how things work once authoritarians are given an inch. Non-compliance is the key, at multiple levels.
The problem we have in Washington is this: We were the first state to implement mass mail-in ballots. We were the testing grounds. That means that over the past few decades, the deep state has captured every single institution here. It leaves little recourse for action beyond non-compliance, but there will be no support from those in power beyond a few local sheriffs.
