If you pick your corn too early, the kernels will still be hard because they haven’t had the time to plump and ripen. You don’t want to waste your effort and pick your corn too early. After planting seeds, corn is usually ready for harvest 80-90 days later. I would say that August and September are popular months for harvesting.

So.. the lunar cycle.
The first (full) lunar cycle of Summer started on July 9 The third full moon after that is September 20.. Anyone have a farmer's almanac? Is September 20 the Harvest Moon?
