yea, but those are game files with video. These files are text files. Millions of pages. of course there is on problem downloading them but what the heck are we going to do with them once we got them?
How would we even start.
I have a hard enough time reading everything here on one page lol
36gb is large? I could load both images in memory and still have enough space for your mom. lol
Seriously. Get some real hardware. My workstation is a HP z820 with dual Xeon with 128gb of memory, 2tb of nvme, 32gb SSD boot drive, 24tb of sas raid5, and a 1gb connection to the internet. It took all of 20 minutes to get these files. Now off to convert them to VMs.
I guess most missed what I was trying to say. So that means I messed up.
Of course like you said downloading 36gb is no big deal. I could download it in a few minutes to an hour at most.
I was not referring to the size of the computer file. I was referring to the size of the actual text files.
My computer can easily handle it.
I cannot easily handle it.
If these 36gb are just text files we are looking at something like millions of pages. I believe that 1gb is equal to about 900,000 pages of text.
It appeared to me at the time that people couldn't wait to download those files to read for themselves.
I did a poor job of trying to let people know these text files are massive. Not something that most will be able to make sense of.
Why not? Anyone should be able to mount them and take a look if they wanted to?
It's freaking huge. That's the only reason
That isn't that big these days.. random game installations can be hundred gigabytes.
Yep, when I saw that DOOM (2016) was a 55GB download I asked my dad if he remembered how DOOM 2 came on 5 1.44MB floppies back in the day.

I mean the text in 17gb (each) is huge.

Well, these files are huge. One file is 18gb compressed zip that becomes 23gb ewf1 file, that is a 100gb filesystem.
But the gold is a 72gb MS SQL database.
