When opening a new package, always use the little sliding plastic piece, slide it down the plunger to zero (or the first groove) and lock it in place with a slight twist. Then push out the paste to clear out and discard any extra paste before measuring the first dose. (There is a bit of extra paste in tip of it that one doesn’t want in the measured dose.)
Put some applesauce on a spoon, squirt out the measured amount and put some applesauce on top. Swallow in one gulp and there won’t be a taste of it.
