Neem oil as an alternative for Ivermectin?

At a talk given by a brave NZ Doctor last night another member of the audience suggested Neem oil as an alternative to Ivermectin. Seems to be used as an insecticide. Anyone with further information please.

I don't have any personal experience with neem oil, but isn't that one that will blister the hell out of your skin?

If it is, taking it internally doesn't seem like a good idea.
