There is not enough people in law enforcement or the military to establish checkpoints on every interstate, hwy or rural roads. Maybe they should put up some border walls to help funnel everyone to checkpoints.
I was thinking about how they would enforce this - I think they would have to use smart phones to track if people have gone over state borders. It's the technocratic dream - something that allows maximum control with minimal cooperation. On the other hand, I'm not sure how they would get around people leaving their cell phones at home...
Great point. They may also try to require people to "check in" with their cell phones (using face/fingerprint id) to ensure people haven't left them behind.
