If you’re a young person and have compassion (very important) and a strong stomach (equally important), look for work at nursing homes. They have the money but are very short staffed. She lasted one day at McDs and hated it. Plus it was minimum wage. This will be better for her life goals as well.
She might be able to take a cna certification class in high school. They'll teach her how to pass her test and maybe even pay for the test. And she might make a buck or two an hour more. And good for her and working toward life goals.
You never worked in the food/restaurant industry. I was an Iron Worker from 05-09 and that was easier and less stressful than being a Line Cook.
I've never been an Iron worker but I don't doubt that. A 16 year old girl wouldn't ever be a line cook though.
